FLOOD ELEVATION CERTIFICATES

This certificate verifies your building’s elevation compared to the estimated height floodwaters will reach in a major flood in a high-risk flood area.  Elevation Certificates also contain other specific information about your home such as finished floor elevations, Base Flood Elevations, number and type of hydrostatic vents, building type, if there is a crawl space and flood zone designation to name a few. This is important information used to determine your flood insurance premium.  These certificates are typically prepared by a registered land surveyor.

 

Below is a link to a database that you can use to search to see if the City maintains a copy of the Elevation Certificate for the address in question. Please note that this is not a complete database and there may be times when a certificate cannot be located due to erroneous addresses or filing/handling errors.
